Infrastructure is a key driver for the Indian economy, with a focus on creating world-class infrastructure to propel India’s overall development. The infrastructure sector includes power, bridges, dams, roads, and urban infrastructure development. The government has launched the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) and other initiatives to augment the growth of the infrastructure sector. The focus historically has been on transportation, electricity, and water & irrigation, but the government is now focusing on other sectors to meet the changing environment and demographics, such as housing, water and sanitation services, digital and transportation demands.
